As we start 2022, here at Humber Law we are celebrating a milestone. Humber Law has now been up and running for 1 year!
How it all started
With all the challenges Covid and lockdown brought, one opportunity it presented was a chance to reconsider how personal legal services were being offered.
Suddenly, all meetings were being carried out by video call, Wills were being witnessed remotely and solicitors were having to find ways of attracting new clients that didn’t involve playing golf with accountants and financial advisers.
Seeing the ways in which legal services adapted so quickly, the idea for Humber Law was born. In January 2021 it quickly became a reality and Humber Law opened its virtual doors.
What we achieved in 2021
2021 was a year of building.
- Building the systems that would make it hassle free for clients to become a client.
- Building the systems that would make it hassle free for clients to prepare a Will within 24 hours without ever needing to leave the comfort of their own home.
- Building the systems that would make it easy for clients to pay for their services by their preferred method, in line with a fee estimate they had known from the outset.
Humber Law acted for clients based around the world, from London to Northallerton, then abroad from as far as Singapore and New York. All the time offering fully regulated, compliant and insured legal services.
Humber Law received welcome client introductions from accountants, financial advisers and other law firms who themselves have recently decided to venture out on their own and offer niche specialist legal services.
A personal highlight for me was when Humber Law offered its first Vacation Scheme placement to a Law School student, a chance for the student to gain 4 weeks experience of life at Humber Law but also a chance for Humber Law to test out its systems when colleagues work remotely.
Looking forward to 2022
The goal for 2022 is to now get the word out there, we are here and open for business.
We have a lot of exciting things planned and I look forward to telling you all about them in future blog posts.
